Mission accomplished! Nabil Baha and his players achieved their goal and made history on April 19, 2025, at El Bachir Stadium, Mohammedia. Morocco wins the U17 Africa Cup of Nations for the first time in its history. This victory is even more special as the Atlas Cubs are crowned champions at home, as the host country of the tournament.
In an intense and balanced final, neither team managed to break the deadlock during the 90 minutes of regulation time. Mali dominated possession (53%) and attempted 7 shots, with 4 on target, while Morocco was more offensive with 18 shots, 4 on target, but failed to capitalize on their chances. The decisive penalty shootout crowned the host nation. The Moroccans displayed composure and precision, scoring four penalties against two for their opponents.
This historic triumph crowns a remarkable campaign where Morocco notably eliminated Ivory Coast in the semi-finals via penalties (4-3) and South Africa in the quarter-finals (3-1).
