"I would have eaten Lamine Yamal alive one-on-one": Patrice Evra has no doubt whatsoever

Known for speaking his mind, Patrice Evra sparked plenty of reactions after making a statement about Lamine Yamal. The former French international was adamant that, in his prime, he would have been able to contain the Spanish wonderkid.

Patrice Evra has never been one to mince words. The former Manchester United defender stirred up controversy when he spoke about a hypothetical duel with Lamine Yamal, one of football’s latest global sensations.

Speaking to ESPN UK, the Frenchman was brimming with confidence about the outcome of a head-to-head with Barcelona’s young winger.

“I would have eaten Lamine Yamal alive in a one-on-one! I’m sorry, Lamine, I love you but…” declared the former French international, convinced he would have had the tools to neutralize the Spanish prodigy.

But Evra didn’t stop there. To back up his claim, he reminded everyone that he’s faced some of the greatest players of his generation:

“Ask Cristiano, ask Messi, ask the other players when they played against me — I’m not a good friend.”

A headline-grabbing statement that once again fuels the debate between the stars of yesterday and today.
