Ibrahim Diabaté chooses La Liga

Highly sought-after during the winter transfer window, Ibrahim Diabaté has made his decision. The 26-year-old Ivorian striker will play for Deportivo Alavés until the end of the season. The Spanish club secured his loan with a purchase option, beating out the likes of Augsburg and Leicester, who were also interested in a similar deal.

In recent weeks, his name had also been linked with Sharjah FC, but that move never materialized. In the end, it’s La Liga that gives Diabaté a new stage to showcase his talent at the highest level.

Under contract with GAIS until December 2028, the striker remains a key asset for his club. Today, his market value is estimated at €1.5 million according to Transfermarkt.
