Ibrahim Maza, Leverkusen says no to suitors

Yet the young Algerian midfielder has caught the eye of several European giants.

After a standout season with Bayer Leverkusen, Ibrahim Maza continues to make headlines in the transfer market. At just 20 years old, the Algerian international is reportedly on the radar of several top European clubs, including Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City, FC Barcelona, and Atlético Madrid.

Despite this interest, Bayer Leverkusen has no intention of opening the door to a transfer. Sporting director Simon Rolfes was unequivocal: the midfielder is a key part of the club's project and his departure is not being considered. Since joining from Hertha Berlin in 2025, Maza has quickly established himself as one of the squad’s most promising talents.

As BILD learned from sources in Spain, one club has expressed concrete interest: Atlético Madrid wants Maza.
However, Simon Rolfes clarified to BILD: "Selling Ibrahim is completely out of the question for us."
