Inter Milan finalize agreement with Al-Hilal for Cancelo: but the Portuguese player prefers another team.

In a significant development regarding João Cancelo's future, Italian giants Inter Milan have reportedly reached an initial understanding with Saudi Arabia's Al Hilal over a short-term transfer for the Portuguese full-back. Per the reports, the proposed arrangement would see Cancelo join Inter on a six-month loan. A crucial element of the deal involves Al Hilal subsidising a significant share of the defender's wages during this period. With Cancelo's earnings reported at €15 million per year plus add-ons, this financial support from the Saudi club is essential, as Inter—like many European teams—cannot shoulder his full salary burden.

While the structural framework with Al Hilal is taking shape, Inter's work is not complete. Club officials are now engaged in direct negotiations with Cancelo, aiming to persuade him to choose a return to Milan. They face stiff competition, primarily from Barcelona, who are actively tracking the situation but have not yet submitted a formal proposal.
