Is Bayern Munich interested in Florian Wirtz?
Florian Wirtz has once again been linked with Bayern Munich, but this option is reportedly not on the agenda. Having joined Liverpool in summer 2025 from Bayer Leverkusen for £100 million, plus a possible £16 million in bonuses, the Germany international remains under contract with the Reds until 2030.
Florian Wirtz is still struggling to fully establish himself at Liverpool
Signed for a substantial fee, Florian Wirtz has made an inconsistent start in England. The attacking midfielder has shown in spells the qualities that convinced Liverpool to invest such a sum, but his performances remain inconsistent.
Since his arrival, the 23-year-old has scored 7 goals and provided 11 assists in 54 matches in all competitions. For the Germany national team, he has also scored 11 goals in 45 appearances. Liverpool began this season with one win and three draws in the Premier League. The Reds did, however, win their opening Champions League match against Atlético de Madrid.
Bayern reportedly no longer interested
Bayern Munich were among the clubs interested in Florian Wirtz when he decided to leave Leverkusen in 2025. The prospect of seeing him return to the Bundesliga therefore quickly fuelled rumours. According to The Bayern Insider, hosted by Bild journalist Christian Falk, this information is reportedly unfounded.
Bayern are reportedly no longer looking to sign Wirtz since the player chose to join Liverpool. For now, a return for Florian Wirtz to the Bundesliga therefore does not appear to be an active option for Bayern Munich.
