Is Cristiano still a threat? The Danish coach responds
Interview
Just hours before the first leg of the Nations League quarter-final between Denmark and Portugal, the Danish coach, Brian Riemer, fired the opening shots by targeting the Portuguese star, Cristiano Ronaldo.
While Brian Riemer acknowledges the superiority of the Portuguese, he believes that Cristiano Ronaldo no longer has the impact he once did:
He is a player who has evolved. He is no longer the same, but he has great qualities. He possesses exceptional footwork, but he is not the only threat. We will also need to contain Bruno Fernandes and Rafael Leão.
Aware of the challenge that awaits his team, Riemer admits that Denmark is not the favorite this Thursday night:
Portugal is a world-class team with talent in every position. When you reach the quarter-finals, there are no easy games. We know what to expect, but we are ready to fight.
