Ismaël Bennacer on the verge of a new challenge in Qatar
According to several Qatari media outlets, Ismaël Bennacer's future looks set to unfold in Qatar. The Algerian international, currently under contract with AC Milan, is reportedly on the brink of joining a new club during the summer transfer window.
At 28, the midfielder is no longer in the plans of the Lombard club and is expected to leave the Rossoneri this summer to revive his career in a fresh environment.
Ismaël Bennacer heading to Qatar?
According to reports from Qatari sports daily Stade Doha, Al-Shamal are currently leading the race to secure the midfielder's signature. Talks between all parties have reportedly made significant progress, and a deal could be struck in the coming days.
This trend is further reinforced by revelations from Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, who noted that Bennacer recently changed agents, joining Lian Sports Group. The same source claims the Algerian international is indeed set to leave AC Milan during this transfer window.
If the move materializes, Bennacer will experience a league outside of Europe for the first time in his career. Since turning professional, he has played in France, England, and Italy, representing the likes of Arles-Avignon, Arsenal, Empoli, AC Milan, and Olympique de Marseille.
