Newspaper reports have revealed that the famous businessman Turki Al-Sheikh is indeed interested in investing in Derby County Football Club, and numerous contacts are currently taking place between the businessman's representatives and the club's current owner, as the Daily Mail explained.

Independent Football Regulator (LFR) is conducting inquiries and due diligence regarding Turki Al-Sheh's interest!

The proposed investment in Derby County by Turki Al Al‑Sheikh is now under scrutiny by England’s Independent Football Regulator (IFR), which must determine whether the Saudi businessman meets the updated ownership and directorship criteria.

A key concern for the regulator is the fact that the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF) already holds a controlling stake in Newcastle United. Before approving any deal, the IFR must ensure that Al Al‑Sheikh’s involvement with Derby does not create a conflict of interest within English football.

Speculation has grown in recent weeks, with Al Al‑Sheikh increasing his engagement with the club. Notably, he has begun following Derby’s official social media channels, intensifying talk of a potential move.

This would not be the Saudi figure’s first venture into football ownership. He has previously owned clubs in Egypt and Spain, and now appears ready to add an English club to his portfolio. The regulator’s decision will be critical in determining whether that expansion becomes a reality.
