Ivory Coast: Guéla Doué’s joy after victory over France
On Thursday night, Guéla Doué made headlines as both a scorer and a decisive playmaker against France (2-1) in a friendly.
With Ivory Coast, Guéla Doué experienced a truly special evening. The Franco-Ivorian expressed pride in his performance in front of the French side.
"It’s a huge sense of pride, my family was there, and I was playing in front of the Ivorian people. It was also a unique match for me—it was the first France–Ivory Coast for my brother and me, so it’s a lot of pride." reacted the brother of French international Désiré Doué on L’Equipe channel.
He added: "France is a top team, they don’t really have any weaknesses, they can attack quickly, keep possession—it’s never easy to play against them. The first half was tough, but we managed to weather the storm and play our game in the second half. Like every competition, we’re here to go as far as possible and make our country proud."
