Jean-Pierre Nsame at the heart of a controversy in Poland

The Jean-Pierre Nsame saga has taken an unexpected turn in Poland. Alex Haditaghi, a Pogoń Szczecin executive, claims that Wieczysta Kraków, promoted this season, tried to sign the 33-year-old centre-forward when he had only just joined Pogoń.

An offer to leave for free

According to Haditaghi, Wieczysta directly contacted Nsame and his entourage without informing Pogoń Szczecin. The executive claims to have documents and correspondence showing that the club sent the player a written contract offer around two weeks ago.

The aim was reportedly to convince the striker to terminate his contract with Pogoń in order to join Wieczysta for free. The Szczecin club considers the move problematic given the player's recent arrival.

Pogoń Szczecin refers the matter to the competent authorities

Pogoń vice-president Tan Kesler confirmed that the club had been informed of the situation by Nsame's agent. The agent reportedly said he had a solution for the striker if Pogoń was not satisfied with his services.

Kesler says the club would have agreed to discuss the matter with other teams if Nsame had expressed his wish to leave. However, Pogoń reacted after discovering that talks were taking place over a free transfer so soon after his signing. The executive added that the case is now being examined by the competent authorities.
