Johan Manzambi close to Newcastle move

Newcastle may have landed one of the breakout stars of this World Cup. According to The Guardian, the English club has reached an agreement with Freiburg for the transfer of Johan Manzambi.

At just 20 years old, the Swiss international is set to be signed for a fee estimated at £51.5 million. He will put pen to paper on a long-term deal with the Magpies. Manzambi made his name on the world stage during the 2026 World Cup, netting three goals and providing two assists in four matches, a performance that confirmed his outstanding season with Freiburg in the Bundesliga.

The transfer, however, is not expected to be made official until Switzerland's World Cup campaign is over. The Swiss side will take on Argentina in the quarter-finals as they look to keep their adventure alive. Should the move go through, Johan Manzambi will make his Premier League debut next season in Newcastle colours.
