Jose Mourinho had a good time with Fenerbahce in Türkiye, and at the beginning of the 2025-2026 season the Portuguese coach was dismissed from coaching the Turkish team, after which he took over coaching the Portuguese team Benfica.

Real Madrid, today, is the club that took the bold step of appointing the Portuguese coach for a new term after he coached them for a period between 2011 and 2013.

According to a report by NTV, José Mourinho has lodged a complaint with the European Court of Human Rights, targeting the Republic of Turkey. The Portuguese coach took this step in response to disciplinary penalties imposed on him by the Turkish Football Federation while he was working in the Süper Lig. The case revolves around sanctions he received during his tenure in Turkey’s top football league.
