Jude Bellingham: “Harry Kane is the greatest player in England’s history”
Interview
Jude Bellingham has nothing but praise for Harry Kane. After England’s victory over the Czech Republic (3-0) in the Nations League, the Real Madrid midfielder named his captain the greatest player in the history of the England team.
Bellingham puts Kane at the top
Harry Kane made his mark in the match played at Wembley. In his 125th appearance for England, the Bayern Munich striker scored twice and provided an assist, thereby equalling Peter Shilton’s record for appearances. After the match, Bellingham praised his teammate’s qualities, particularly in his role as captain and dressing-room leader
He is the greatest player to have worn this shirt for England. It is an honour to play alongside him.
The Real Madrid player believes that Kane continues to improve despite being 33. He particularly highlighted the striker’s versatility, as he is capable of scoring, contributing to the play and making himself useful in several areas of the pitch. For the England midfielder, Kane above all represents an example for the other internationals:
Everything he achieves, he deserves. He works so hard for it and he is a very honest person. He is a fantastic role model and a great person. We learn from him every day.
Kane continues to make history
With his two goals against the Czech Republic, Harry Kane has now taken his tally to 91 goals in 125 appearances for England. He has thus joined Peter Shilton at the top of the ranking of the most-capped players in the history of the Three Lions.
At just 23, Bellingham himself is being tipped as a potential future great in English football history. For now, however, the Real Madrid midfielder clearly considers Kane the absolute benchmark for the national team.
