Karl Toko Ekambi secures a lucrative contract in Qatar!

Karl Toko Ekambi is turning the page and beginning a fresh chapter in his career. The 34-year-old Cameroonian striker, who had been without a club since parting ways with Al Arabi SC, has now found a new home — and he is staying in Qatar.

In Qatar, but with another club.

His destination is Umm Salal SC, a side plying their trade in the Qatari second division. The forward has put pen to paper on a deal that keeps him at the club until the close of the 2026–2027 campaign.

What he brings to his new employers is a wealth of experience. Over the years, Toko Ekambi has turned out for a string of European clubs, among them Villarreal, Lyon, Angers, Paris FC and Rennes. Now, he is aiming to breathe new life into his career on Qatari soil.

His most recent stint came with Al Arabi SC, where he found the net five times across nine outings in the Qatar Stars League. Should he carry that kind of threat into the second division, Umm Salal SC will be hoping his goals can make all the difference.
