Konyaspor persists in pursuit of Emam Ashour
Konyaspor has not given up on the trail leading to Emam Ashour. The Egyptian midfielder remains a top priority for the Turkish side, who could make another move in the coming weeks.
Al Ahly sets a high price
Konyaspor had already put forward an offer of $6 million, roughly €5.1 million, to secure the services of the 28-year-old. But this bid was turned down by Al Ahly, who believe the amount falls short of their demands. The Egyptian club is now reportedly asking for nearly €10 million to sanction a permanent transfer.
Under contract with Al Ahly until June 2028, Emam Ashour thus remains in a strong contractual position for his club. Nevertheless, Konyaspor are closely monitoring his situation and could make a fresh approach if the conditions change.
A financial gap to bridge
The interest from Konyaspor is genuine, but the gap between the initial €5.1 million bid and Al Ahly's €10 million asking price remains the main stumbling block for now.
A 34-cap Egyptian international, Ashour brings the experience and composure needed to bolster the Turkish midfield. A fresh offer could be tabled before the transfer window closes, especially if the player himself signals his interest in a move.
