At the heart of the controversy was defender Eray Cömert, who sparked a mass brawl and bottle-throwing from the stands after a provocative celebration—hanging a Valencia shirt on the corner flag. Several figures, including Levante players and staff, condemned the act as disrespectful, though according to Sport, the Swiss defender later admitted his mistake and issued an apology.
