The third matchday of the Ligue 1 Lonaci was played last weekend at various stadiums across the Ivorian championship. Between FC San Pedro’s convincing victory over FC Bouaké and the draws recorded in several matches, the clubs continued their battle to collect valuable points.

FC San Pedro make a statement in Bouaké

Playing away at the Bouaké stadium, FC San Pedro secured an impressive 3-0 victory over FC Bouaké. The Petrucians quickly took control of the match through Dosso Issouf, who scored in the 19th minute. Before half-time, Karamoko Alpha doubled the lead in the 39th minute, allowing his team to go into the break with a comfortable advantage.

Late in the match, Aby Kassy Théodore put the finishing touch on the visitors’ victory by scoring the third goal in the 89th minute. A convincing win that enabled FC San Pedro to make an impression on the third matchday.

ASEC Mimosas and AFAD share the points

At the Alassane Ouattara Olympic Stadium in Ebimpé, ASEC Mimosas and AFAD du Plateau drew 1-1 after a closely contested match.

AFAD took the lead in the 78th minute through Touré Mohamed. Just as the Afadistes appeared to be heading for victory, Bakaré Kévin equalised for the Yellow and Blacks in the 85th minute. The two sides therefore had to settle for a point each.

Stade d’Abidjan and ES Agboville play out a draw

At the National Technical Football Centre (CNTF) in Bingerville, Stade d’Abidjan and ES Agboville also drew 1-1. Neither team managed to gain the upper hand, with the points shared at the end of the match.

Sol FC overcome Mouna FC

Still at the CNTF in Bingerville, Sol FC secured a narrow but valuable victory over Mouna FC (1-0). The only goal of the match was scored by N’Guessan Michel as early as the 6th minute. That early strike was enough to delight Sol FC, who managed to protect their lead until the final whistle.

Stella Club and Yamoussoukro FC share the points

At the Alassane Ouattara Olympic Stadium in Ebimpé, Stella Club d’Adjamé and FC Yamoussoukro finished level at 1-1.

Adjamé’s Magnans opened the scoring in the 7th minute through Diarrassouba. However, Yamoussoukro’s Rams responded before half-time, with Gbakagnan Jonathan equalising in the 45th minute. Despite both teams’ efforts in the second half, the score remained unchanged.

A third matchday marked by draws

The third matchday of the Ligue 1 Lonaci was marked by FC San Pedro’s victory in Bouaké and Sol FC’s win over Mouna FC. The other three matches mentioned ended in draws, confirming the balance of power among several teams in the championship.

The next matchdays will allow the various clubs to continue their progress and strengthen their ambitions in this new season of Ivorian football.
