Linafoot qualifiers: Congo Eagles extend their lead at the top

The tenth round of the qualifiers wrapped up on June 7. The Congo Eagles remain in pole position despite drawing with Vita. Behind them, Mazembe stumble and watch the reigning champions pull further ahead.

The excitement continues to build in the Linafoot championship. After the final two matches of round ten played yesterday, the Congo Eagles maintain their grip on the top spot. The reigning champions played out a goalless 0-0 draw against Vita Club on Saturday, but stayed at the summit thanks to their rivals’ setbacks.

A harsh blow for TP Mazembe. The Ravens suffered a costly 2-1 defeat to Maniema Union yesterday. That loss proved expensive: Mazembe hold on to second place, but the gap is now two points behind the Eagles. Their chance to catch up has slipped away.

Round 10 results:

AS Simba 0-3 Saint Eloi Lupopo
Don Bosco 2-2 Celeste
Maniema 2-1 Mazembe.
