Maniema Union pulled off a remarkable achievement in Kamalondo. Thanks to their 2-1 victory over AS Vita in the eleventh round of the Linafoot qualifiers, the team has stormed back into the title race.

All the action unfolded in the first half. Prince Soso opened the scoring in the 2nd minute. Jérémie Maniema leveled for the Moscovites in the 26th minute. Abedi Bokombole then restored Maniema's lead in the 36th minute. The match ended 2-1.

On the table, it's a huge step forward. Maniema Union climbs to third place with 19 points, just one point behind TP Mazembe and three behind the Congo Eagles. The Eagles and Mazembe are set to face off on Thursday.

As for Vita Club, the defeat was a bitter pill to swallow. The Moscovites remain on 16 points and have lost control of their own destiny in the race for the top three in Africa. With only three rounds left, Union fans are more hopeful than ever of snatching the title.
