Liverpool joins Manchester United in the race for Manu Koné
Manu Koné’s future continues to be one of the hottest topics of the transfer window. After a string of impressive performances with AS Roma and the French national team, the midfielder is now attracting interest from several European giants.
According to Corriere dello Sport, Atlético Madrid submitted a €40 million offer, but the Italian club immediately turned it down. Roma have no intention of letting their player go on the cheap. The club’s board is reportedly demanding at least €60 million to consider a transfer this summer. Alongside Atlético, Manchester United are still closely monitoring the situation. But now the Red Devils will have to contend with Liverpool, who have also entered the race for the French international.
Having arrived in Rome in the summer of 2024, Koné played 29 Serie A matches last season, tallying 2 goals and 3 assists. Under contract until 2029, the 25-year-old midfielder is also in the thick of the World Cup, where he has already started four times for Les Bleus.
