Liverpool still keeping an eye on Yankuba Minteh

Yankuba Minteh was seriously considered by the Reds during the last summer transfer window. According to Sacha Tavolieri, the Brighton winger could become an option again in the coming months.

A deal already considered this summer

The Gambian was among the profiles considered by Liverpool to strengthen their attack, alongside, notably, Bradley Barcola and Víctor Muñoz. According to TalkSPORT, a maximum offer of £60 million, or around €70 million, could have been considered. Brighton reportedly demanded £80 million, approximately €93.5 million.

This financial gap prevented an agreement from being reached. The player's physical condition also contributed to putting the deal on hold.

Minteh's return will be decisive

Aged 22, Yankuba Minteh has not yet played a match this season because of a foot injury. Sacha Tavolieri indicates that the Reds' scouts remain attentive to his progress. His return to competition will determine whether he can meet the squad's needs ahead of the winter transfer window. However, no new offer has been announced at this stage.

Under contract with Brighton until June 30, 2029, the Gambia international joined the Seagulls from Newcastle United in the summer of 2024 for approximately €35 million. Since then, he has recorded 10 goals and 9 assists in 79 appearances. A revival of the deal this winter will therefore depend mainly on his physical condition and his performances after his return to the pitch.
