Madrid derby: Real Madrid TV delivers a bitter response to Atlético

Since Real Madrid's defeat in last Sunday's derby, war has broken out between the rivals from the Spanish capital.

As was the case on Monday and Tuesday, the war of words between Real Madrid and Atlético Madrid continued this Wednesday. Indeed, after the Merengues' defeat in the derby (2-1), Real Madrid TV had strongly denounced the refereeing, prompting mockery from the Colchoneros on social media.

However, the response clearly did not go down well with the Casa Blanca's channel. It responded by broadcasting a four-minute video compiling past criticisms made by Atlético against referees.

"Memory is short: they demand respect for referees, but only sometimes. (...) We call for respect, but we post tweets when events do not suit us. Respect flies out the window as soon as things go wrong. We show respect when we benefit, but much less when we are disadvantaged," Real Madrid TV's voice-over even charged, notably bringing up old statements from Diego Simeone.
