Malang Sarr chooses Senegal over France

Although he was eligible for both the French national team and the Senegalese squad, Malang Sarr opened up to Téléfoot and has chosen Senegal.

Given his performances with Lens, just months before the 2026 World Cup, Malang Sarr has a strong chance of heading to America wearing the colors of Senegal’s Lions of Teranga.

“My parents were born in Senegal and lived there, so playing for Senegal would be wonderful. I’m not claiming anything or demanding anything; like any player performing well, you just have to aspire to certain things.” he said.

The message is clear. Malang Sarr now awaits Pape Thiaw’s next squad announcement.
