Manchester City have reportedly identified Liverpool's Alexis Mac Allister as their primary midfield target, according to journalist Matt Thielen. The Argentine has established himself as one of the Premier League's elite operators since arriving at Anfield in 2023, collecting both a top-flight crown and a League Cup during his time on Merseyside.

Now 27 and performing at the height of his abilities, the World Cup winner has allegedly attracted contact from City's hierarchy, who view him as the ideal candidate to fill the void should their Spanish linchpin move on.

Manchester City want to replace Rodri!

For some time now, Real Madrid have been circling Rodri with serious intent, yet the twist in this tale sees Barcelona suddenly positioned to snap up the Spain international.

TEAMtalk's trusted insider Graeme Bailey has revealed that Madrid have chosen to step back from the chase, following Rodri's clear indication that his heart lies with the Blaugrana.

Bailey told TEAMtalk: "Real were somewhat shocked by the news from Rodri and his camp that Barcelona had emerged as a potentially better landing spot, and they were informed of that earlier this week. They had spent weeks, if not months, outlining the role they wanted Rodri to play both on and off the pitch."
