Manchester City: Jürgen Klopp's view on the accusations
Manchester City has been making headlines for the past few days. The English club has officially been found guilty by an independent commission of 114 breaches of the Premier League's financial rules between 2009 and 2018.
If the sanctions are imposed, Liverpool could potentially reclaim three league titles, notably for the 2018–2019 and 2021–2022 seasons under Jürgen Klopp. Now Germany's head coach, the German manager does not appear interested in what happens next in this procedure.
"I haven't really thought about it, but of course I noticed the situation. I also remember what I said: 'If there is ever a parade, I'll be there.' I don't really feel that way anymore. It's not that I think a parade absolutely has to be organised. I can simply take a step back and wait for it to happen. I have immense respect for Pep Guardiola and for the football Manchester City played at the time when we faced them. The style of play they displayed on the pitch, the kind of opponents they were for us. If sanctions are imposed, I have nothing to do with it. And that's why I'm waiting to see what happens. The legal process has been going on for a long time; I assume there will be an appeal, which will take forever. (...) To be honest, it doesn't really interest me," Klopp told the media.
