Manchester City: Mateo Kovacic set to leave
Mateo Kovacic could leave Manchester City during this summer transfer window. According to multiple sources, the English club is reportedly ready to sell him despite his contract running until 2027.
Arriving in 2023 from Chelsea, the 32-year-old midfielder played a key role in his debut season, making 42 appearances, scoring 7 goals, and providing 3 assists. But things have changed. In the most recent campaign, Kovacic featured in only nine matches across all competitions, most of them as a substitute, due to injuries and limited playing time.
According to Football Insider, Manchester City now considers the player "surplus to requirements" and has opened the door for his departure. The club has already bolstered its midfield and may still look to sign another player in that area. The Croatian, who has also played for Real Madrid and Chelsea, could therefore be set to start a new chapter in his career.
