We are on the verge of a resolution in the Rodri saga at FC Barcelona.

According to renowned transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, an agreement has just been reached between Manchester City and FC Barcelona for the transfer of the Spanish midfielder. As reported by COPE, Rodri will sign a four-year contract for a fee of €65 million, plus some additional bonuses.

After being courted for weeks by Real Madrid, the 2026 World Cup’s best player seemed destined for the Madrid giants. However, the midfield maestro made a dramatic U-turn, resisting the siren call of Los Blancos and opting instead for the Blaugrana project. The official announcement is expected in the coming days.

Rodri to become a Barça player this Monday?

Now, Rodri is on the brink of officially becoming an FC Barcelona player. Again, according to Cadena Cope, "Rodri is scheduled to land in the Catalan city at 7 p.m.," after having already successfully completed his medical in Manchester.

Rodri and João Cancelo could be unveiled on Wednesday. After being long linked with Real Madrid, the 2024 Ballon d'Or winner is now finally closing the Manchester City chapter and preparing to embark on his Catalan adventure.
