Manchester City wants to extend Josko Gvardiol

Manchester City is looking to secure the future of Josko Gvardiol and has submitted a contract extension offer to their central defender, according to multiple sources.

After joining from RB Leipzig in 2023, the Croatian international quickly established himself as a key component in Pep Guardiola’s squad, already racking up 122 appearances in a Citizens shirt. The proposed new deal would include improved terms and could tie the player to the English club until 2031.

However, the 24-year-old is reportedly not ready to make a decision just yet. According to certain sources, Gvardiol wants to wait and see how Real Madrid’s interest develops before deciding on his future. Nevertheless, Manchester City is eager to wrap up the deal swiftly to lock down one of their most important defenders for the coming years.
