Manchester United: Carlos Baleba passes medical but must wait to make debut

Carlos Baleba is on the verge of joining Manchester United. According to Sky Sports, the Cameroonian midfielder completed his medical on August 23 with the Red Devils.

The deal was reported to be worth £65 million plus £5 million in add-ons from Brighton. He will sign a five-year contract with an option to extend until 2032. The club has yet to make an official announcement regarding his arrival.

Baleba passes his medical

This is the crucial step before the official unveiling. Carlos Baleba was in Manchester on August 23 for medical tests, according to Sky News. At just 22 years old, he already boasts 96 appearances in the Premier League. There are high expectations for him to strengthen United’s midfield.

Debut delayed due to injury

The issue lies with his ankle. He suffered a ligament injury during pre-season training with Brighton, causing him to miss friendlies against Strasbourg, Roma, and Bologna. According to journalist Daniel Khan from Sky Sports, he is expected to return in mid-September, possibly against City or Fulham. However, the international break could push his comeback to October.
