Manchester United: Fenerbahçe sets its sights on Marcus Rashford

After his loan spell at Barça came to an end, Marcus Rashford has caught the eye of Fenerbahçe, while Manchester United is considering giving him another shot.

Marcus Rashford's future could soon be written in Turkey. According to an exclusive from The Sun, Fenerbahçe has reached out to the English striker's representatives to explore the terms of a potential transfer this summer.

The 28-year-old is reportedly on a shortlist of three forwards, alongside Rafael Leão and Ismaïla Sarr. The Istanbul giants are said to be ready to make a significant financial commitment to secure his signature, though no specific fee has been mentioned yet. No official offer has been submitted to Manchester United so far.

Barça did not trigger the option

Rashford's stint at FC Barcelona was far from a flop. The England international racked up 14 goals and 14 assists in 49 appearances across all competitions last season.

Despite his 28 goal contributions, the Catalan club opted not to trigger the purchase option, valued at €30 million. Barcelona's management chose other reinforcements for their attack, prompting Marcus Rashford to bid farewell to FC Barcelona.

A real opportunity under Michael Carrick?

Back at Manchester United, Rashford could be assessed during the summer pre-season. Michael Carrick had already considered bringing Marcus Rashford back to Manchester United and is reportedly keen to give him a fresh chance.

This move could signal a genuine sporting project, but it might also be a calculated strategy to restore his market value ahead of a possible sale. Publicly reinstating Rashford would allow the Red Devils to avoid labeling him as an unwanted player and strengthen their position in transfer negotiations. For now, it's unclear which scenario will play out.

Since the start of his professional career, Rashford has scored 156 goals in 492 club matches: 138 in 426 appearances for Manchester United, four in 17 games with Aston Villa, and 14 while wearing Barcelona's colors. With England, he has notched 19 goals in 78 caps.

His experience and productivity make him a credible target for Fenerbahçe. However, the Turkish side will need to turn their interest into a concrete offer and reach an agreement on what would be a very substantial salary.
