Marcus Rashford sends farewell message to FC Barcelona

After a season with 28 goal contributions, Marcus Rashford is leaving Barça and set to return to Manchester United, where his future remains up in the air.

Marcus Rashford will not continue his adventure at FC Barcelona. Long hopeful of staying in Catalonia, the English winger posted a farewell message on Instagram:

"I am very grateful to everyone at the club for making my time here such a positive and memorable experience. I’ve enjoyed every moment and will cherish many exceptional memories. I wish the club and all its supporters the best of luck and much success in the coming season. Visca el Barça."

On the pitch, his loan spell was a clear success. Rashford netted 14 goals and provided 14 assists in 49 appearances, playing a key role in the team’s La Liga title triumph. Despite these performances, the Blaugrana did not activate the €30 million buy option. Instead, the Catalan club chose to invest in Anthony Gordon and Karim Adeyemi.

Could Michael Carrick give him a fresh start?

Rashford is still owned by Manchester United, with his contract running until June 2028. A return to Old Trafford seemed unlikely just a few months ago, as the player had openly stated his desire for a new challenge after being sidelined.

However, the situation could change. Michael Carrick has reportedly not completely ruled out reintegrating Rashford into the squad next season if no satisfactory offers come in.

The United boss could hand him another chance, provided Rashford accepts the competition and proves his commitment. His Barcelona stint showed he can still be decisive, but his high wages and status continue to complicate his future.
