Manchester United recruit a young player from Liverpool’s academy

Manchester United have officially announced the arrival of Isaac Konde at their academy. The 16-year-old winger is therefore leaving Liverpool, where he had been playing for several years, to continue his development at the Manchester club’s major rival.

Konde leaves Liverpool for Manchester United

Isaac Konde decided to bring his time with Liverpool to an end at the conclusion of last season. The young player reportedly failed to reach an agreement with the club over the signing of his academy contract. Manchester United then took advantage of the situation to convince the player to join them.

According to reports, the Red Devils are said to have offered him better terms and promised him the signing of a five-year professional contract after he turns 17, on October 22. The agreement could therefore run until June 30, 2031.

Compensation paid to Liverpool

However, the change of club will not take place without compensation for Liverpool. As part of the agreement, Manchester United have undertaken to pay the Reds a fee corresponding to the young player’s training. The amount could reach several thousand pounds, depending on the terms agreed. Konde is therefore leaving Liverpool’s structures after spending a large part of his young career there.

Isaac Konde is primarily described as a dynamic and agile player. He can play on either wing, but can also be used in a more central attacking position. For his debut at Manchester United, the young talent will join the Under-18 squad. He will therefore take part in the Premier League youth competition and will look to gradually earn his place in the team.
