Manchester United releases Jadon Sancho

The story between Jadon Sancho and Manchester United has come to an end. The Manchester club officially announced on Wednesday the departure of the English winger, whose contract will not be renewed.

Arriving at Old Trafford in the summer of 2021 after impressive performances with Borussia Dortmund, Sancho never truly managed to establish himself with the Red Devils. Despite high hopes surrounding his transfer, the 26-year-old forward endured a challenging spell, especially after his falling out with Erik ten Hag.

In recent seasons, he was repeatedly loaned out, returning to Dortmund before spells at Chelsea and then Aston Villa. His most recent campaign saw limited playing time, even though he contributed to his teams' European successes. Now a free agent, the former England international is set to consider the offers that come his way. A return to the Bundesliga is among the options being discussed to reignite his career.
