Manqoba Mngqithi technical team at Yanga unveiled

Tanzanian giants Young Africans have unveiled the technical team of newly appointed head coach Manqoba Mngqithi ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.

The South African tactician took over the reins earlier this month after his exit from Betway Premiership side Golden Arrows at the end of the previous season.

He will be assisted by Simo Dladla, who also served as his second in command at Abafana Bes'thende, guiding the club to a top eight finish last season.

Former Fulham FC and Crystal Palace midfielder Kagiso Dikgacoi has also been roped in as a set-piece coach, reuniting with Mngqithi after their spell at Arrows.

Highly-rated tactical performance analyst Yardaan Valodia will also form part of the technical team, having worked with the 55-year-old mentor in the last term.

The backroom staff is rounded up by former Moroka Swallows shot-stopper Greg Etafia, who has been appointed as the club's new goalkeeper coach.

Mngqithi, meanwhile, has been tasked with mounting a deep run in the prestigious CAF Champions League, with Yanga more often than not falling short in the group stages.

Furthermore, the former Mamelodi Sundowns boss is expected to retain the league title as the Jwangani street giants have now clinched the championship for five seasons in a row.

Whether Mngqithi will achieve the objectives set by the demanding Yanga hierarchy remains to be seen, with expectations high on KwaZulu-Natal-born gaffer.
