Marshall Munetsi: Zimbabwe captain mocks the Super Eagles ahead of their clash

Marshall Munetsi and Zimbabwe face off against Nigeria on March 25, 2025, in the 6th round of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. Even though the Super Eagles might be considered favorites for this clash, the Warriors' captain exudes great confidence.

The Wolverhampton defensive midfielder stood alongside coach Michael Nees in a pre-match press conference before Nigeria vs Zimbabwe. Asked about this challenge against the Super Eagles, the Zimbabwean captain spoke candidly.

"It's better to play away than at home. The pressure is always on the home team. If we manage to start the game well, the pressure will be on them to try and get a good result. We also have quality players who can handle certain situations and who have the necessary experience. But above all, we will not respect Nigeria. It's not about coming here to be mere supporters, but we will take the match more seriously and try to take maximum points," said Marshall Munetsi.

Before heading into this 6th round match, the Zimbabwe Warriors are at the 6th and last place in the standings in Group C with 3 points, while the Nigerians are 4th with 6 points.
