Milan and Real Madrid tracking Owen Emeka
Owen Emeka is beginning to attract attention across Europe. At just 17 years old, the Granada winger has reportedly caught the eye of AC Milan and Real Madrid in particular, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.
Emeka shines for Granada
Developed at Granada’s academy, Owen Emeka gradually broke into the first team and is playing in Spain’s second division this season. The young winger of Nigerian origin has already featured in six Segunda División matches, scoring one goal. His performance against Albacete particularly caught the attention of Milan’s scouts.
AC Milan scouts had travelled to watch Dylan Rodriguez during that match. Left on the bench for the entire game, the latter ultimately did not play, while Emeka took the opportunity to stand out. Emeka notably scored a superb goal in the match, which ended in a 1-1 draw. His performance reportedly convinced the Milan representatives in the stands to continue monitoring him.
A clause set at around €15 million
Real Madrid are also reportedly monitoring the player’s progress. Several major clubs have thus reportedly begun showing an interest in his profile, as the young Spaniard continues his development with Granada. Emeka’s contract runs until the summer of 2031 and reportedly includes a release clause estimated at around €15 million. This clause could therefore be a key factor in the event of a future transfer.
The young winger is also continuing his international career with Spain. He was called up to the Spanish Under-18 squad during this international break. The team is notably preparing for the category’s World Cup, scheduled to take place in Qatar from November.
