According to a press report published this Monday, AC Milan has made Moroccan international Zakaria El Ouahdi one of its top priorities to bolster the right flank of its defense during the summer transfer window.

This move comes as Swiss full-back Zakary Athekame's departure seems imminent. The player is on the verge of joining Olympique Lyonnais on a loan deal running until the summer of 2027.

According to renowned Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Milan's management sees El Ouahdi as one of the leading candidates to fill the right-back slot as early as next season.

The KRC Genk defender impresses with his remarkable versatility. Equally comfortable on either side of the backline, he can also be deployed in a more attacking role on the wings—a profile especially valued by the Rossoneri's technical staff.

The same source reports that Genk is demanding between 13 and 15 million euros to let their Moroccan international leave.
