Morocco: Good news, successful surgery for Hamza Igamane
Hamza Igamane

Good news for Moroccan international Hamza Igamane.

Injured in the groin just before AFCON 2025, Hamza Igamane raced against the clock to try and make the squad for the home continental tournament. Returning to action during the knockout stages, the player suffered another, more serious injury in the final.

Hamza Igamane was hit in the knee and collapsed to the ground, leaving his teammates down to ten men during extra time. Surgery was necessary for the striker. The operation took place earlier this week and went well, as the player showed on his Instagram account.

Now, it’s another race against time for Hamza Igamane, as he hopes to make it back in time to play in the 2026 World Cup with the Atlas Lions.
