Rayane Bounida, Ajax Amsterdam's rising star, may be about to follow in the footsteps of El Khannouss, who opted to represent Morocco instead of Belgium.

Born in Belgium to Moroccan parents, the 19-year-old is eligible to wear the colors of both the “Red Devils” and the “Atlas Lions.”

So far, the Amsterdam prodigy has always represented Belgium at youth level, but things could change as early as the next international break.

According to multiple sources, Bounida has already begun the process of switching his sporting nationality from Belgian to Moroccan.

The player dropped a major hint on his official Instagram account by removing any mention of his connection to the Belgian national team.

This could be a tremendous boost for the Moroccan squad, which continues to actively scout dual-nationality talents.

For the record, Rayane Bounida has made two appearances for Ajax Amsterdam but is still looking for his first goal or assist.
