Morocco: Sofiane Boufal makes his Ligue 1 comeback

After recent reports linking him with Wydad, Sofiane Boufal has ultimately decided to restart his career in France. As a free agent, the Moroccan international has signed with Le Havre AC, a move confirmed by Foot Mercato, putting an end to speculation about his future.

The Normandy club, currently 13th in Ligue 1, was searching for a player with the creativity and flair to shake things up on the wings. With just 15 goals scored so far, Le Havre has one of the least prolific attacks in the league and is counting on Boufal’s experience to turn things around.

A 2022 World Cup semifinalist with Morocco, Boufal arrives after a spell at Union Saint-Gilloise, having previously played for Lille, Southampton, Celta Vigo, and Al-Rayyan. His Ligue 1 return marks a new chapter in a storied career, as he takes on the challenge of helping the club avoid relegation.
