Napoli: Zambo Anguissa scores after nearly a year without a goal
André-Frank Zambo Anguissa found the net again this Saturday, October 24, 2026, against AS Roma. The Cameroonian midfielder opened the scoring with a superb acrobatic volley in the spectacular 3-3 draw between Napoli and the Rome-based club in the league.
It took going back to October 28, 2025, to find his previous goal. That day, the Napoli player scored the only goal in his team’s 1-0 victory away to Lecce. Nearly a year later, he found the net again after a period disrupted by injuries.
At the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium, Anguissa opened the scoring in the 28th minute. After the Roma defense failed to clear a free kick from Matteo Politano, the Cameroonian met the loose ball with a spectacular overhead kick that ended up in Pierluigi Gollini’s net. A spectacular goal to get his personal tally moving again.

Napoli then extended their lead through Scott McTominay, who scored twice in the 48th and 83rd minutes. But Roma refused to give up. Matías Soulé pulled one back in the 69th minute before Leonardo Balerdi scored twice (74th, 89th) to snatch a draw.
Despite opening the scoring, Anguissa was therefore unable to give Napoli the victory. His return to the scoresheet nevertheless remains an encouraging sign after several months marked by physical setbacks.
