Nasreddine Nabi off to false start at Raja Casablanca

Raja Club Athletic settled for a one-all draw with relegation-threatened Union Touraga Sport in Nasreddine Nabi's first match in charge of the club.

The 60-year-old mentor took over the reins on Friday, succeeding South African tactician Fadlu Davids, who was shown the exit door after a string of poor results.

RCA hierarchy were unimpressed with the team's defeats to title rivals Wydad Athletic Club, RS Berkane, and FAR Rabat, ultimately pulling the plug.

Davids, who was appointed in September 2025, oversaw 22 matches in the Raja hotseat, winning 12 games, drawing five, and lost the other five encounters.

He left the team in fifth place on the Botola Pro League standings, four points off the summit, with the curtain slowly falling on the 2025/26 campaign in Morocco.

Now, the Green Eagles have turned to Nabi to steer the ship in the remaining seven fixtures in the league, as they aim to reign supreme in the heated title race.

The Tunisian gaffer had been unattached since parting ways with Betway Premiership giants Kaizer Chiefs last year in September.

Nabi put pen to paper on a one-and-a-half-year deal with a result-based automatic option to extend his stay in Casablanca by a further 12 months.

Whether he will see out his deal at the trigger-happy Raja remains to be seen, with North African clubs notorious for shaking up the technical team.
