New Algeria head coach: Antar Yahia, the cold shower!

Named among the potential candidates to succeed Vladimir Petkovic, Antar Yahia reportedly does not meet the regulatory requirements to become Algeria's head coach.

The prospect of Antar Yahia taking the helm of the Algerian national team seems to be fading by the day. While Vladimir Petkovic's departure now appears to be only a matter of time, the former Fennecs captain does not possess the necessary coaching licenses to take up the role of national team manager.

According to several consistent sources, Antar Yahia holds neither the CAF Pro license nor the UEFA Pro licenseβ€”two essential certifications required to manage a national team. As a result, his application would be automatically ruled out, although a potential appointment as an assistant coach in the future technical staff remains a possibility.

Meanwhile, the Algerian Football Federation continues to favor the option of hiring a foreign coach to usher in a new era. Before making any decisions, however, Walid Sadi is expected to meet with Vladimir Petkovic to reach a mutual agreement on a friendly separation, as no official successor is being considered at this stage.
