Algeria: Vladimir Petkovic reportedly unwilling to make any concessions to the FAF
According to the latest reports, Vladimir Petkovic has rejected all FAF proposals for an amicable termination, demanding full payment of the sums stipulated in his contract.
The split between Vladimir Petkovic and the Algerian Football Federation is turning into a financial standoff. Still reeling from the disappointment of their elimination in the round of 16 of the 2026 World Cup, the FAF now finds itself in a particularly delicate position with its head coach.
According to Echourouk, the Swiss-Bosnian coach has turned down all offers of an amicable split proposed by the Federation. He is reportedly insisting on the full payment outlined in his contract, including salaries and bonuses—nearly €5 million—and threatening to take the case to FIFA and the courts should no agreement be reached.
