Now a free agent after his departure from Al Ahli Jeddah, Riyad Mahrez finds his name linked to a possible MLS move while he recharges in Paris.

Since the announcement of his exit from Al Ahli Jeddah, speculation has been swirling around Riyad Mahrez’s future. Among the possible options, a transfer to MLS—reported by L'Équipe—stands out as one of the most credible. The Algerian winger ticks all the boxes sought by the North American league for its "designated players," a path already taken by the likes of Lionel Messi, Zlatan Ibrahimović, and Thierry Henry.

Meanwhile, the Algerian international is currently enjoying a stay in Paris to recuperate after Algeria’s elimination in the round of 16 at the 2026 World Cup. This visit to his home region is not expected to last long, as he will soon head off on a family holiday to recharge away from media pressure, before committing to a new club.
