Nuremberg: Mika Faye has completely disappeared after FC Barcelona

The young Senegalese defender Mika Faye is still struggling to truly launch his career since leaving FC Barcelona in the summer of 2024.

He was transferred to Stade Rennais for around €10 million. Mika Faye made just 12 appearances for the Breton club during his first season. This was before he endured another difficult spell on loan at Cremonese, where he played just 250 minutes last season. Now at Nuremberg, in the German second division, the Senegalese player has yet to play a single minute this season.

Mika Faye nevertheless retains the confidence of his coach, Miroslav Klose, who particularly appreciates his technical qualities. “Mikayil is making an increasingly positive impression; he has been training with the team for some time. You can see the excellent technique he possesses,” explained the German coach.

It should be noted that FC Barcelona is also keeping an eye on his situation, with a buy-back option set at €25 million and a 30% sell-on clause in the event of a future resale.
