The former Algerian international, Djamel Menad, passed away this Saturday, March 22, at the age of 64. Algerian football has lost one of its finest. Indeed, Djamel Menad passed away this Saturday at the age of 64.

The news was made public via a statement released by the management of JS Kabylie:

The large family of Algerian football and JS Kabylie is in mourning following the announcement of the death of Djamel Menad, former player and true legend of national football. We extend our sincere condolences to his family, his loved ones, and the entire large family of Algerian football. In this moment of deep sadness, we share your pain and unite in prayer.

Djamel Menad was, until his death, the sporting director of JSK. A true legend of Algerian football, he wore the colors of the Fennecs for 15 years, between 1980 and 1995. Throughout his international career, he played 79 matches and scored 25 goals. Djamel Menad actively participated in Algeria's first triumph at the CAN in 1990.
