Official: Al Ahly announces the departure of Aliou Dieng

Aliou Dieng turns the page. Al Ahly SC has officially announced the departure of their midfield anchor on June 10. Since joining from ASO Chlef in the summer of 2019, the Malian international has etched his name into the modern history of the Cairo giants.

Over seven seasons, Dieng featured in 250 matches, playing a pivotal role in clinching 16 domestic and international trophies. His remarkable haul includes three Egyptian Premier League titles and four Caf Champions League crowns. His impact was immediate and enduring in the heart of midfield, from breaking up opposition attacks to surging forward with purpose.

At 28, Aliou Dieng is in the prime of his career. According to the latest reports, he is expected to join Valencia in La Liga—a new chapter for a player departing as one of Al Ahly’s modern legends.
