OFFICIAL: Another PSL coach bites the dust

Motsepe Foundation Championship outfit The Bees FC have parted ways with head coach Duncan Lechesa following a tough start to the 2026/27 campaign.

The Mpumalanga-based side succumbed to four defeats and picked up a solitary win in their opening five fixtures, which has the club sitting 14th on the second-tier standings.

Notably, the win came at the expense of Lerumo Lions in the last match before the FIFA International break that's set to run for three weeks.

Despite getting off the mark, Lechesa was relieved of his duties just three months into the job, having been appointed in June ahead of the current season.

“The Bees FC and Coach Duncan Lechesa have mutually agreed to part ways with effect from 23 September 2026,” read a club statement.

"The Club thanks Coach Lechesa for his services and wishes him well in his future endeavours.

"Dominic Ramokgopa and Velile Zitha will continue as co-coaches until further notice.

The Bees are in their second term in the rigorous Motsepe Foundation Championship, and finished in 10th place with 35 points accumulated last season.

Whether the club will install a new boss in the dugout remains to be seen, as they return to action with a visit to Cape Town City after the hiatus.
